Book Ministry—Hope and Encouragement Update Summer 2021
This past year has been a uniquely challenging one for everyone. It gave us the opportunity, however, to find creative ways to provide hope and encouragement due to most of the usual events being shut down. The conferences, where we typically would introduce ourselves to new ministry partners, were also canceled.
Because of this, we began reaching out to ministries and organizations that we hadn’t heard from in sometime. As well, we made calls to prison chaplains, military personnel, first responders and medical professionals who were unfamiliar with our ministry.
We were able to send sample boxes of our books to these partners, enabling us to create new relationships that we may not have made otherwise.
A practical way we provided hope and encouragement was by sending our books to food distribution organizations that were now serving people with drive-through programs.
Additionally, we were able to focus on bringing in some new books that we are excited to share with you. The titles that are now available are: Traveling Light by Max Lucado, The Comeback by Louie Giglio, 100 Devotions of Hope and Encouragement from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young, The Case for Christ/The Case for a Creator by Lee Strobel, a compact version of Strobel’s full-size books and All Things New by John Eldridge. At the end of July, we will have available Pro-Choice or Pro-Life by Randy Alcorn. Although not a new story, we did combine the five books from the Dellie O’Shea collection into one book called The Adventures of Dellie O’Shea. Finally, by the end of the summer, Total Forgiveness by R.T. Kendall will be arriving at our warehouse.
Although not directly ministry-related, one of the surprising upsides to this season was it gave us time to prepare and execute a move into a new warehouse. This move has been two years in the planning, finally reaching fruition when we moved in February.
This warehouse has allowed us to bring everything under one roof in Sisters, OR. Previously, our books for large freight shipments were located at a warehouse in Kansas and small shipments along with our administrative offices were in Sisters, creating some logistical challenges so this has been a welcome undertaking.
Through it all, we are ever so thankful to the Lord for the opportunities He has given us to meet new ministry partners and continue to work with those we have known for years. We so appreciate those of you who are on the frontlines for the Kingdom and grateful of your continued prayer support of our ministry as we move forward with the Lord’s mission.
